{"id":2489,"date":"2023-01-12T10:05:59","date_gmt":"2023-01-12T10:05:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=2489"},"modified":"2023-01-12T10:05:59","modified_gmt":"2023-01-12T10:05:59","slug":"cheesy-turkey-and-broccoli-spaghetti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/cheesy-turkey-and-broccoli-spaghetti\/general\/","title":{"rendered":"Cheesy turkey and broccoli spaghetti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a> Foods!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">375g\/13oz dried\u00a0spaghetti, or other pasta shape<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 head\u00a0broccoli\u00a0(around 350g\/12oz), cut into small florets<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">375g\/13oz\u00a0turkey breast\u00a0steaks, cut into roughly 2cm\/\u00bein chunks<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 tbsp\u00a0vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 medium\u00a0onion, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">25g\/1oz\u00a0plain flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1\u00a0chicken stock\u00a0cube<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">450ml\/16fl oz\u00a0milk<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">50g\/1\u00beoz\u00a0cheddar, coarsely grated<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">salt and ground\u00a0black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Half fill a large saucepan with water, cover with a lid and bring to the boil.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the spaghetti and cook uncovered for 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Then add the broccoli to the pasta and cook for 3 minutes more, or until the spaghetti and broccoli are just tender.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">While the pasta is cooking, season the turkey pieces with a little salt and some ground black pepper.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Heat a tablespoon of the oil in a large non-stick frying pan for a few seconds and fry the turkey over a medium-high heat for 3\u20134 minutes, or until lightly browned.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Tip onto a plate.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Return the pan to the heat, add the remaining oil and fry the onion over a high heat for 4 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Reduce the heat to medium, sprinkle the flour over the onion and stir well.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Crumble over the stock cube and gradually start adding the milk, just a little at a time, stirring well between each addition.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Once all the milk is added, return the turkey to the pan, add the cheese and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Cook for 3 minutes more, stirring constantly.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add ground black pepper to taste.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Drain the pasta and broccoli in a large colander then return to the pan and stir in the turkey mixture.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Toss well together and serve immediately.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><strong>Banner and Image Credit: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by BBC Foods!
