{"id":2462,"date":"2022-12-22T16:34:53","date_gmt":"2022-12-22T16:34:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=2462"},"modified":"2022-12-22T16:35:13","modified_gmt":"2022-12-22T16:35:13","slug":"fish-stew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/fish-stew\/fish\/","title":{"rendered":"Fish stew"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a> Foods!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2kg\/4lb 8oz mixed fresh fish fillets and shellfish, such as\u00a0red mullet, small sole, gurnard, monkfish, sea bass, cuttlefish, baby octopus, prawns, mussels, squid or scallops<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">8 tbsp\u00a0olive oil, plus extra for drizzling<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 large\u00a0onion, finely sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 garlic\u00a0cloves, finely chopped, plus an extra clove for the toast<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1kg\/2lb 4oz ripe tomatoes, skinned and chopped, or 2x400g\/14oz tins of\u00a0chopped tomatoes<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">125ml\/4fl oz\u00a0red wine<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">chopped fresh\u00a0chilli, to taste<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">3 tbsp finely chopped flatleaf\u00a0parsley<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">\u00bd tsp\u00a0fennel seeds<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">salt and freshly ground\u00a0black pepper<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">6-8 slices good\u00a0bread, slightly stale or toasted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">If your fishmonger hasn\u2019t already done so, clean and prepare your chosen fish and shellfish.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Cut fish fillets into large chunks and seafood into manageable pieces.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Put the oil, onion and garlic into a large pan and fry briefly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the tomatoes, wine, chilli, parsley and fennel seeds and season with salt and pepper.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Cook for 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Start to add large pieces of fish to the sauce first and those that will take the longest to cook such as monkfish, then add the more tender fish such as red mullet or sole and the shellfish, ending up with the mussels if using.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Cook for five or so minutes, or until the fish is cooked and the mussels have opened.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Rub the bread with garlic, drizzle with olive oil, and put each slice in the bottom of a deep soup bowl.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Pour over the soup and serve.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><strong>Banner and Image Credit: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by BBC Foods!
