{"id":2317,"date":"2022-11-08T14:43:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T14:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=2317"},"modified":"2022-11-08T14:43:00","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T14:43:00","slug":"slow-cooker-harissa-vegetable-stew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/slow-cooker-harissa-vegetable-stew\/general\/","title":{"rendered":"Slow cooker harissa vegetable stew"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a> Foods!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">400g\/14oz\u00a0parsnips, trimmed, peeled, woody core removed and cut into short batons<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2\u00a0onions, red, white or a mixture, cut into very thin wedges<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">4 large\u00a0carrots, peeled and cut into 2cm\/\u00bein slices<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 x 400g tins butterbeans (or other white beans)<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">3 tbsp\u00a0harissa<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tbsp dried\u00a0oregano\u00a0or mixed herbs<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tbsp\u00a0honey<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">400g tin\u00a0chopped tomatoes<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">400ml\/14fl oz\u00a0vegetable stock<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 tbsp\u00a0tomato pur\u00e9e<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">about 100g\/3\u00bdoz\u00a0kale, thick stalks discarded and roughly chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">salt and freshly ground\u00a0black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"recipe-ingredients__sub-heading gel-great-primer-bold\">To serve<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">freshly cooked couscous, rice or\u00a0jacket potatoes<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">plain\u00a0yoghurt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<p>Before starting this, make sure to turn the slow cooker onto the highest setting!<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the parsnips, onions and carrots.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Drain one of the tins of butterbeans and tip into the slow cooker with the other tin of beans and its liquid.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the harissa, oregano, honey, chopped tomatoes, stock and tomato pur\u00e9e.
