{"id":2163,"date":"2022-09-06T14:03:44","date_gmt":"2022-09-06T14:03:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=2163"},"modified":"2022-09-06T14:03:44","modified_gmt":"2022-09-06T14:03:44","slug":"easy-slow-cooker-chilli","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/easy-slow-cooker-chilli\/general\/","title":{"rendered":"Easy slow cooker chilli"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a> Foods!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">500g\/1lb 2oz\u00a0beef mince<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 medium\u00a0onion, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp hot\u00a0smoked paprika<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp ground\u00a0cumin<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp ground\u00a0coriander<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">\u00bd\u20131 tsp\u00a0dried chili\u00a0flakes, or to taste<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">400g tin\u00a0chopped tomatoes<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">275ml\/9\u00bdfl oz hot\u00a0beef stock, made with 1\u00a0beef stock\u00a0cube<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">3 tbsp\u00a0tomato pur\u00e9e<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">400g tin red\u00a0kidney beans, drained and rinsed<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">salt and freshly ground\u00a0black pepper<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">rice,\u00a0soured cream, coriander, and lime wedges, to serve (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Put the mince and onion in a large frying pan, make sure it is a none stick frying pan, and fry together over medium-high heat for about 4 minutes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Stirring and squishing against the side of the pan with a couple of wooden spoons to break up the mince as much as possible.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the spices and cook for 1 minute more.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Tip the spiced mince into the slow cooker and add the tomatoes, stock, tomato pur\u00e9e, and beans.
