{"id":2160,"date":"2022-09-05T13:47:40","date_gmt":"2022-09-05T13:47:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=2160"},"modified":"2022-09-05T13:47:40","modified_gmt":"2022-09-05T13:47:40","slug":"easy-banana-bread","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/easy-banana-bread\/general\/","title":{"rendered":"Easy banana bread"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by BBC Foods!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">285g\/10oz plain flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp bicarbonate of soda<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">\u00bd tsp salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">110g\/4oz butter, plus extra for greasing<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">225g\/8oz caster sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 free-range eggs<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">4 ripe bananas, mashed<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">85ml\/3fl oz buttermilk (or normal milk mixed with 1\u00bd tsp lemon juice or vinegar)<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp vanilla extract<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<p>Before starting this, make sure to preheat the oven to 180C\/350F\/Gas 4.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Sift the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt into a large mixing bowl.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the eggs, mashed bananas, buttermilk and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture and mix well.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Fold in the flour mixture.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Grease a 20cm x 12.5cm, approximately, loaf tin and pour the banana bread mixture into the tin.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Transfer to the oven and bake for about an hour, or until well-risen and golden-brown.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Remove from the oven and cool in the tin for a few minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely before serving.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><strong>Banner and Image Credit: BBC<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by BBC Foods!
