{"id":2073,"date":"2022-08-02T08:35:13","date_gmt":"2022-08-02T08:35:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=2073"},"modified":"2022-08-02T08:35:13","modified_gmt":"2022-08-02T08:35:13","slug":"easy-caesar-salad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/easy-caesar-salad\/general\/","title":{"rendered":"Easy Caesar salad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by BBC Foods!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 slice stale sourdough bread (roughly 100g\/3\u00bdoz)<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">4 anchovies in oil, drained, reserving 1 tbsp of their oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 tbsp mayonnaise<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 lemon, juice only<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 heaped tsp Dijon mustard<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 garlic clove, finely grated<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">4 tbsp finely grated Parmesan, plus extra for serving<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">300g\/10\u00bdoz sweet lettuce, such as oakleaf or lamb&#8217;s lettuce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Preheat the oven to 200C\/180C Fan\/Gas 6. Cut the bread into rough 2cm\/\u00bein chunks and place on a large baking tray. Drizzle over 1 tablespoon of oil from the anchovies and mix well. Bake for 10\u201312 minutes, or until fragrant, dark brown and crunchy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Meanwhile, make the dressing. Add the mayonnaise, lemon juice and mustard to a large clean jam jar.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Finely chop the anchovies, then add the grated garlic and run the edge of the blade across them a few times to make a paste. Add the garlic and anchovy paste to the jar, then add the olive oil and Parmesan and seal the lid.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Shake for 30 seconds.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Taste it for seasoning \u2013 if it needs more saltiness add a little more grated Parmesan, and if it needs more acidity add a little more lemon juice.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces, keeping the smaller leaves whole.
