{"id":2047,"date":"2022-07-26T08:26:18","date_gmt":"2022-07-26T08:26:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=2047"},"modified":"2022-07-26T08:26:18","modified_gmt":"2022-07-26T08:26:18","slug":"fish-tacos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/fish-tacos\/fish\/","title":{"rendered":"Fish tacos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a> Foods!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"recipe-ingredients__sub-heading gel-great-primer-bold\">For the quick pickled onion<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 small\u00a0red onion, peeled, halved, and sliced into half moons<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2\u00a0limes, juice only<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"recipe-ingredients__sub-heading gel-great-primer-bold\">For the hot sauce<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">125g\/4\u00bdoz\u00a0mayonnaise<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 tsp\u00a0gochujang\u00a0paste, or other hot sauce, to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"recipe-ingredients__sub-heading gel-great-primer-bold\">For the corn relish<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 x 198g\/7oz tin\u00a0sweetcorn, drained<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 fresh red\u00a0chili, finely diced (de-seed if you don\u2019t like too much heat)<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">3 tbsp chopped\u00a0fresh coriander<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">salt, to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"recipe-ingredients__sub-heading gel-great-primer-bold\">For the fish tacos<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">4 skinless fillets of firm\u00a0white fish, such as hake or haddock (750\u2013900g\/1lb10oz-2lb total), from the thicker loin end<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp ground\u00a0cumin<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">\u00bd tsp\u00a0paprika<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp\u00a0sea salt\u00a0flakes<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1\u00a0garlic\u00a0clove, peeled and finely grated or minced<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 tbsp regular\u00a0olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">8 soft corn tortillas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"recipe-ingredients__sub-heading gel-great-primer-bold\">To serve<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 ripe\u00a0avocados<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1\u00a0lime, juice only, plus 2\u00a0limes, cut into wedges<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">salad leaves\u00a0of your choice<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1\u20132 tbsp chopped\u00a0fresh coriander<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<p>Before starting this, make sure to Preheat the oven to 220C\/200C Fan\/Gas 7 for the fish.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Begin by preparing the sides for your tacos. Put the red onion slices into a bowl and cover with the lime juice.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Stir with a fork to mix the onion well in the juice.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Make the hot sauce by mixing together the mayonnaise and the gochujang paste in a bowl.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Set aside.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">For the corn relish, put the canned sweetcorn into a bowl. Add the chili to the sweetcorn, along with the chopped coriander and some salt to taste.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Give it all a good stir, and set aside.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Cut the fish fillets in half lengthways, so you have long fingers, and arrange them in a shallow roasting tin. Mix together the cumin, paprika, and salt, and sprinkle over the fish fillets.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Mix the garlic and the oil in a small bowl. Drizzle the fish with the garlicky oil, and roast in the oven for 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Once you\u2019ve taken the fish out, turn off the oven and warm the tortillas in the fading heat.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Meanwhile, peel, stone, and slice the avocados, then spritz with the juice of lime.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Arrange the fish on a plate, sprinkle with some chopped fresh coriander, and take it to the table along with the warmed tortillas.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Put the bowls of soused, but drained, red onions, the corn relish, hot sauce, and a plate of sliced avocados on the table so that everyone can load their tortillas.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><strong>Banner and Image Credit: <a class=\"jss645 jss73 jss75 jss74\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shutterstock.com\/g\/TeriVirbickis\">Teri Virbickis<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by BBC Foods!
