{"id":2013,"date":"2022-07-19T15:00:43","date_gmt":"2022-07-19T15:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=2013"},"modified":"2022-07-19T15:00:43","modified_gmt":"2022-07-19T15:00:43","slug":"chorizo-gnocchi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/chorizo-gnocchi\/general\/","title":{"rendered":"Chorizo gnocchi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a> Foods!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">120g\/4\u00bcoz\u00a0chorizo, diced (buy a ring or pre-diced)<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1\u00a0onion, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tbsp\u00a0olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 red, orange or yellow\u00a0peppers, seeds removed and cut into 2cm\/\u00bein chunks<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">4\u00a0garlic\u00a0cloves, crushed or finely chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 x 400g tins of chopped tomatoes<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 tbsp\u00a0tomato pur\u00e9e<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 tsp\u00a0sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">500g\/1lb 2oz\u00a0gnocchi<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">100\u2013125g\/3\u00bd\u20134\u00bdoz\u00a0kale, leaves roughly chopped and thick stalks discarded (or use a 100g bag of spinach)<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">125g\/4\u00bdoz ball\u00a0mozzarella, torn or sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">salt and freshly ground\u00a0black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<p>Before starting this, preheat the Grill!<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Put the chorizo, onion, and oil in a frying pan over low\u2013medium heat and gently fry for about 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the peppers and fry for 5 minutes, then stir in the garlic and fry for about 1 minute.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Stir in the tomatoes, tomato pur\u00e9e and sugar. Use 300ml\/10fl oz water to swill out the tomato tins and stir this in too.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Bring to a simmer, then stir in the gnocchi. Simmer for 8 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Stir the kale into the pan with the gnocchi and season to taste.
