Add the juice of 1 lemon and 100g\/3\u00bdoz sugar.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Cover and leave at room temperature overnight to allow the sugar and lemon juice to draw all the juice from the berries.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">The next day, strain the strawberry juice into a bowl through a fine-mesh sieve.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Tip the remaining 250g sugar into a pan, add 500ml water and the pared rind of 4 lemons.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Slowly bring to the boil over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and then simmer for 3 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Remove the syrup from the heat and leave to cool to room temperature.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Meanwhile, squeeze the juice from the 4 pared lemons and set them aside.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Strain the lemon syrup into the strawberry juice, add the lemon juice, and stir.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Pour into a large serving jug, add sparkling water to taste, and serve with ice and extra slices of lemon, sliced fresh strawberries, and mint leaves.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><strong>Banner and Image Credit: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by BBC Foods!
