Trim off the core and pop out the seeds with the tip of a knife.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"recipe-method__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Cut each piece of jackfruit in half.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">When the onions are caramelized, add the garlic, smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, black pepper, and tomato puree.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Fry for a minute, stirring, then add the jackfruit, soy sauce, treacle or brown sugar, and vegetable stock.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">When the sauce is reduced and thickened, remove the pan from the heat and use a fork to mash the jackfruit into shreds.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Taste and adjust the seasoning with a bit more soy sauce, sugar, or some chili sauce of your choice.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em><strong>Banner and Image Credit: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is made possible by BBC foods!
