{"id":1773,"date":"2022-05-11T09:29:35","date_gmt":"2022-05-11T09:29:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=1773"},"modified":"2022-05-11T09:03:54","modified_gmt":"2022-05-11T09:03:54","slug":"slow-cooker-bean-chilli","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/slow-cooker-bean-chilli\/general\/","title":{"rendered":"Slow cooker bean chilli"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This recipe is courtesy of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">BBC GoodFood<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-ingredients__heading gel-double-pica\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list\">\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 tbsp\u00a0olive oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2\u00a0onions, thinly sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2\u00a0garlic\u00a0cloves, crushed<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp hot\u00a0smoked paprika\u00a0(or regular paprika, or chilli powder)<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp ground\u00a0cumin<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp ground\u00a0coriander<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">\u00bc tsp ground\u00a0cinnamon<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">150ml\/5fl oz hot\u00a0vegetable stock\u00a0(made with 1 stock cube)<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 x 400g\/14oz cans\u00a0chopped tomatoes<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">2 x 400g\/14oz cans black beans or red\u00a0kidney beans\u00a0(or a mixture), rinsed and drained<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">1 tsp dried\u00a0oregano<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-ingredients__list-item\">sea salt and freshly ground\u00a0black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"recipe-method__heading gel-double-pica\">Method<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Heat the oil in a frying pan, ensure this frying pan is rather large, and fry the onions for 5 minutes, make sure to frequently stir!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Add the garlic, paprika, cumin, coriander, and cinnamon, and cook for a further minute, or longer if needed, however, this will more than likely only take a minute to do and finish.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"recipe-method__list-item\">\n<p class=\"recipe-method__list-item-text\">Transfer to the slow cooker. Stir in the stock, tomatoes, drained beans, tomatoes, and dried oregano.
