{"id":1079,"date":"2020-06-03T13:57:45","date_gmt":"2020-06-03T13:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/?p=1079"},"modified":"2020-06-03T13:57:45","modified_gmt":"2020-06-03T13:57:45","slug":"healthy-pancakes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/food\/healthy-pancakes\/uncategorized\/","title":{"rendered":"Healthy Pancakes!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Pancakes are great and most people love them.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But a lot of people shy away from eating them because they can be quite calorific (especially when topped with all the sweet things you can find in your cupboard and fridge).<\/p>\n<p>But, thanks to BBC GoodFood, we\u2019ve got a solution for you; a recipe for healthy pancakes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ingredients-list__group\">\n<li class=\"ingredients-list__item\">150ml skimmed milk<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredients-list__item\">berries and low-fat yogurt or fromage frais to serve<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredients-list__item\">50g self-raising flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredients-list__item\">50g wholemeal or wholegrain flour\n<div id=\"gf-tooltip-0\" class=\"gf-tooltip\" role=\"tooltip\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredients-list__item\">2 small eggs, separated<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"responsive-tabs__pane-title\"><strong>Method<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"method\">\n<ol class=\"method__list\">\n<li class=\"method__item\">Sift the flours into a bowl or wide jug and\u00a0tip\u00a0any bits in the sieve back into the bowl. Add the egg yolks and a splash of milk then stir to a thick paste.\u00a0Add the remaining milk a little at a time so you don\u2019t make lumps in the batter.<\/li>\n<li class=\"method__item\">Whisk the egg whites until they stand up in stiff peaks,\u00a0then fold them carefully into the batter \u2013\u00a0try not to squash out all the air.<\/li>\n<li class=\"method__item\">Heat a non-stick pan over a medium heat and\u00a0pour in enough batter to make a pancake about 10 cm across. Cook for just under a minute until bubbles begin to pop on the surface and the edges are looking a little dry. Carefully turn the pancake over.\u00a0If it is a bit wet on top, it may squirt out a little batter as you do so.\u00a0In that case,\u00a0leave it on the other side a little longer. Keep warm while you make the remaining pancakes.
