Queen Elizabeth II was crowned on 2nd June 1953 in Westminster Abbey. Her Majesty was the thirty-ninth Sovereign to be crowned at Westminster Abbey.<\/p>\n

In Bulgaria, a celebration of the life of national hero Hristo Botev takes place, Botev fell fighting Turks, 1876<\/p>\n

Italy Celebrates Republic Day which is a National holiday Commemorating the 1946 referendum in which republic status was selected instead of return to monarchy.<\/p>\n

On the 2nd of June 1692 saw the beginning of the Salem Witch Trials a special court created on May 27, 1692, to expedite the judgment of the more than 150 people accused of witchcraft. Unpopular resident Bridget Bishop, originally accused in April, was the first of the jailed brought to trial on June 2. At her April examination her accusers, teenaged girls, had collapsed in fits as she appeared The Bishop\u00a0 denied the charges stating: \"I am no witch\u2014I know not what a witch is.\" She was convicted on June 2 and hanged on June 10.<\/p>\n
