It is themed around the songs of George Michael and is scripted by Emma Thompson plus Directed by Paul Feig. The film is set to be released next year and will star Emilia Clarke, Henry Golding and Emma Thompson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/z9CEIcmWmtA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Director Paul Feig told BBC News: &#8220;[George Michael] was putting together his new album when he passed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;And one of our tracks is one of those songs, and it&#8217;s just an absolutely amazing song that I&#8217;m so excited the world is going to get to hear now.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Singer George Michael died on Christmas Day 2016 due to a heart failure. The star was known for his part in the band Wham! which started in the 1980s and was a huge success. He went on to a solo career which also was a huge success.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Last Christmas focuses on a young aspiring singer Kate (Clarke) whose hero\/inspiration is George Michael.
