In a statement Collins said the film will be going back years to the &#8220;dark days&#8221;. The dark days is the period of 10 years after war, this will all be reconstructed in the novel. It will show the struggle of Panem getting back to normal. This also means that there will be a lot of new characters in the film.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Collins said:<\/strong> &#8220;With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival,&#8221; she said. &#8220;The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days \u2014 as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet \u2014 provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins is writing a prequel novel for the Hunger Games.
