It first aired on the BBC for a total of six in episodes in 1975. A second series of a further six episodes was screened four years later. The multiple award-winning show is often deservedly cited by viewers and pundits alike as the funniest sitcom of all time.<\/p>\n<p>The show is predominately set at Fawlty Towers, a fictional hotel in the English seaside resort town of Torquay. Former Monty Python team member Cleese stars as the eccentric, rude and irascible hotel owner, Basil Fawlty.
