Another Weigh is the first dedicated zero-waste shop in Penrith dedicated to reducing waste and improving our shopping habits.<\/p>\n

Owned by Zoe Hedges and Chris and Emma Bray, we want to improve the future of the planet for our children.<\/p>\n

Zoe Hedges has always been concerned with environmental issues, having had her eyes opened while volunteering at Kent Wildlife Trust to the effects our way of life is having on wildlife. Becoming a mother strengthened those worries about what sort of world we are leaving for our children. Zoe moved to Cumbria in 2013 to raise her family. She lives in Penrith with her fianc\u00e9 Ben Carney and three children Leo, Tristan and Logan.<\/p>\n

Zoe tried to reduce the amount of waste coming from her home, switching to cloth nappies and bars of soap but couldn\u2019t find a way to get rid of the plastic waste coming from her food shop. Around the country a number of zero waste shops were opening, allowing shoppers to buy without packaging, Zoe set out to open her own zero waste shop in Penrith and started a crowdfunder campaign offering gifts in thanks for pledges. Zoe was overjoyed at the response and it raised \u00a33,000.<\/p>\n

We have made the process simple for you. Don\u2019t worry, there will be someone on hand to help you until you know what to do.<\/p>\n

\nStep 2:<\/span>\u00a0Fill<\/strong>\u00a0with as much or as little as you want \u2013 you decide

\nStep 4:<\/span>\u00a0Pay<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bring any container you would like to fill. We don\u2019t mind if it is plastic \u2013 so long as it is being reused and not thrown away. We can supply paper bags which are made of 100% recycled paper and fully compostable, but we would encourage you to bring a reusable container if possible as there is still a cost to the earth in producing paper bags. We also have a nut butter machine and in Penrith a non-dairy milk machine and coffee grinder to make your products on site.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
