{"id":1787,"date":"2019-11-06T18:45:25","date_gmt":"2019-11-06T18:45:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/boxingandufc\/?p=1787"},"modified":"2019-11-06T18:45:25","modified_gmt":"2019-11-06T18:45:25","slug":"ufc-244-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fiveminutesspare.com\/boxingandufc\/ufc-244-results\/ufc\/","title":{"rendered":"UFC 244 Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UFC 244 \u2013 Masvidal Vs Diaz &#8211; Results<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Taking place at Madison Square Garden in New York, this past weekend saw the highly anticipated welterweight match-up between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz, for the now infamous BMF belt.\u00a0 In the early rounds Masvidal has the better of Diaz, however Diaz\u2019s never say die mentality saw him battle on.\u00a0 When the doctor was called to check a cut above Diaz\u2019s right eye after the third round, Diaz himself said he was good to continue, however the doctor waved the fight off \u2013 thus awarding a victory to Masvidal.\u00a0 Both fighters have said they\u2019d look at doing the fight again \u2013 but so far, no comment from the UFC!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the co-main event, a middleweight match-up featured previous welterweights Kelvin Gastelum and Darren Till.\u00a0 This was Till\u2019s first outing in this new weight class, and was really a must-win for him after suffering previous defeats.\u00a0 The fight went back and forth and eventually in the favour of Till by way of a split decision.\u00a0 Post-fight Till explained he wasn\u2019t in the right head-space prior to the fight, and with complete honestly, said he had even tried to fake an injury so the fight wouldn\u2019t go ahead.\u00a0 Hopefully a victory will be the shot in the arm he needs and will be ready to take on even tougher challenges as he rises in the rankings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rest of Fight Card &#8211; Results<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vicente Luque vs. Stephen Thompson\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 170 lbs<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thompson def.
