In the main event of the evening, Henry Cejudo came out victorious against Marlon Moraes to take the vacated bantamweight title.\u00a0 This now makes Cejudo a two-division champion, having already taken the Flyweight title earlier this year).\u00a0 Cejudo wants to be known as the greatest combat athlete of all time, and this takes him well on his way \u2013 bearing in mind he already owns an Olympic gold medal.\u00a0 Moraes meanwhile, seemed to have the better of things early on but it was Cejudo who was able to press on for the victory.<\/p>\n

In the co-main event, flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko successfully defended her title, by way of a stunning knock out of Jessica Eye.\u00a0 Eye battled valiantly in the first round, but Shevchenko\u2019s victory never seemed in doubt, and following some cracking body shots early in round two she delivered a fight-ending high kick to Eyes head.\u00a0 Her dominance in the division is growing and few currently look able to contend.<\/p>\n

Donald Cerrone also featured against the returning Tony Ferguson.\u00a0 Ferguson seemed to be on another level to Cerrone and dominated the battle \u2013 even if he did deliver a blow after the end of round two.\u00a0 Cerrone was already pretty damaged and when he blew his nose between rounds, his eye closed up completely and the fight was stopped following doctor advice.\u00a0 The illegal blow was not deemed to have caused any damage leading to the stoppage and Ferguson was awarded the TKO victory.\u00a0 Ferguson seemed unhappy to have won in such a fashion, but no doubt will be back to make his way to the top of the division<\/p>\n
